Club de Futbol Monterrey stands out as a team comprised of counterattacking players. That was how they achieved such remarkable success during last season, earning a regional title that earned them entry into the Club World Cup tournament.
Since 1945, Club America has won five Liga MX championships, three Copa MX cups and two CONCACAF Champions League tournaments.
1. Suspend Access to the Stadium
Club de Futbol Monterrey is an active player in Mexico’s Liga MX, located in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon. FEMSA, Latin America’s largest bottling company, owns this club and its home games are held at Estadio BBVA Bancomer which replaced Estadio Tecnologico after 63 years as their home stadium and can accommodate 53,500 fans. Monterrey FC adopted its home uniform, featuring vertical blue and white stripes, from Tampico Madero football club known as the “Jaibas Bravas”, who had similar striping. Monterrey team adopted it shortly thereafter.
Monterrey earned their third league championship – Apertura tournament – as well as winning both Copa MX tournaments twice and qualifying for two FIFA Club World Cup tournaments in 2009.

4. Change the Symbols

Rivalry between these teams will come to America when they meet for a friendly in Houston this October, during the FIFA international window – meaning any players called up by their national teams won’t be eligible to take part.
